Purpose
2 v 2 in a confined space requires attackers to work hard using preliminary moves, while defenders apply pressure.

  • Setup

    For each group of 4, create a 6m square. Pair-up within the group so there are 2 attackers and 2 defenders.

  • Step 1

    Attackers must work the ball around inside the square, passing to one another. Defenders Defenders concentrate on close marking (double defence / sagging defence is disallowed)
    Attackers use techniques such as straight lead - dodge - roll-off - roll-around# to get away from their defender.
    Held ball rule applies

  • Step 2

    Once a turnover occurs, defenders become attackers. Pause briefly for a rest, then restart.

  • Step 3

    Progression: Bring the cones in 1m each diagonally so the playing area is 4m square.
    Now it's more difficult for attackers to find space.
