Bounce Pass Triangle

Purpose
A drill to simulate a pressured passer who bounce passes around their defender.

  • Setup

    Set out a 2m triangle per group of 4, give each group a ball, 3 attackers (A - C) start and must remain on cones, 1 player starts as the defender (D).

  • Step 1

    This drill simply involves (A & B & C) passing to one another, whilst avoiding an intercept from (D).

  • Step 2

    Attackers can only use bounce passes to get around the close marking (D)
    Advanced players will use both hands when passing

  • Step 3

    Defender works hard to quickly close down attackers, read the pass and get a hand on the ball

  • Step 4

    If a defender manages to turn the ball over, either swap them with the player that turned it over, or to even out workload rotate so everyone has a turn at defending.

  • Step 5

    Rotate defenders who are clearly fatigued.
