Purpose

When it's your throw-in in the goal circle, there are specific set plays you can run. This particular strategy is used when the ball goes out closer to the goal arc than the post.

Setup
Choose teams and setup as per the diagram.
Step 1
Non-throwing goalie - in this instance [GA] - sets-up on the far side of the post, and gets in a position for a hold. More often than not, they will draw double defence from both circle defenders
Step 2
Thrower [GS] motions as if to lob, to get defenders on the back foot, looking for a high ball to [GA], drawing them away from [GS]
Step 3
Instead [GS] performs a double play with closest feeder [WA]. The return pass should be caught using a split-foot technique.

[WA] needs to ensure they have good position, ideally closest to the baseline so the ball doesn't need to travel past a defender.

[GS] quickly passes, then rushes into the court near the baseline.

Make sure both feet touch the court before catching the return pass, rules don't allow jumping from out of court to catch in-court from the pass.
