Goal Circle Throw-in: Set-up For Cross, Play Ball-side

Purpose
When it's your throw-in in the goal circle, there are specific set plays you can run. This particular strategy is used when the ball goes out closer to the post than the goal arc.

  • Setup

    Choose teams and setup as per the diagram.

  • Step 1

    Feeders setup near 45 marks

  • Step 2

    Non-passing goalie [GS] stands near the centre of the circle - in hold position outside opponent - as though looking to receive from furthest feeder [WA].

  • Step 3

    Instead [GA] passes to closer feeder [C], while [GS] rolls-around inside their direct opponent to receive ball-side.
