Preliminary Moves & Passing.

Purpose

A clever passing drill requiring players to either work a line or pivot from the middle

Setup
Groups of 4 require 8 x 5m rectangle. Groups elect 2 stationary link players (B & D) who both have a ball, and 2 workers (A & C).
Step 1
The 2 workers (A & C) start diagonally opposite one another, and run back-and-forth along the ends of a rectangle. At each station, they receive alternatively from the link players (B / D) in the middle

Workers always pass to the same person:-

(A) always passes to (B): First diagonally, then down the line

(C) always passes to (D): First diagonally, then down the line
Step 2
Link players (B & D) always pass down the line, never diagonally

(B) receives diagonally from (A), then initiates a 1-2 with (A) down-the-line

(D) receives diagonally from (C), initiates a 1-2 with (D) down-the-line

(B / D) briefly turn-around to pass down-the-line to other end, then turn back again.
Step 3
Another way to visualise this drill is the ball movement...Balls start in opposing corners, and travel in the same direction, in unison:-

Switch diagonally, then back out, then back in

You can throw-in reversing the direction as a progression for advanced teams
