Skills
Goalie Preliminary Moves, Basic Technique.
Purpose
High intensity drill which simulates a short lead - which is covered - requiring the player to duck back into space behind to receive.

Instructions
Setup
Each pair needs about 1/6 of court space. Feeder (A) stands 5m in front of worker (B).
Step 1
(B) leads towards (A) who delays the pass for the time being
Step 2
Simulating a situation where this pass is covered, (B) performs an up-and-back move
Step 3
(B) catches then passes back to (A), then quickly returns to the starting position for the next feed.
Step 4
(A) can vary passes between shoulder pass, reverse shoulder pass or lob pass.
Step 5
Repeat for 45-60 seconds and rotate roles.
Step 6
Form groups of 3 and introduce a defender who takes-up a side defensive stance.
